Our designs filled to floral and artistic value, often with premium, delicate or seasonal-specific rare botanics: sizing/stem count will vary, naturally.
• Designer's Choice of ingredients, color palette, and aesthetic styling. All delivery designs are Designer's Choice creations in terms of final choice of ingredients, color palette, and aesthetic styling. It is not always possible for our studio to accommodate requests and changes. Requests are welcome in the Request section below, and may be accommodated as we are able without notice prior to delivery. Please confirm prior to order submission if an inability to meet the request negates the purpose of your order.

1. Designer's Choice
Customer/Sender entrusts our skilled designers to create a unique and beautiful arrangement using the freshest, highest-quality seasonal flowers available. This allows our designers the freedom to craft a truly original design.
What you can expect:
- A unique design: Your arrangement will be a one-of-a-kind creation, reflecting the designer's artistry and style.
- The freshest flowers: We prioritize using the best flowers available in studio, ensuring a longer-lasting and more vibrant arrangement.
Important considerations for your order:
- No specific flower, color, or container is guaranteed. Because our inventory of fresh flowers changes throughout any given week, we do not promise specific elements. The designer will select all materials based on availability.
- Requests are not guaranteed. While you may include special requests or notes (e.g., "no lilies due to allergy," "prefer brighter colors"), they are not guaranteed and are subject to the designer's final discretion.
- Sender/customer agrees to this policy with order submission/payment, and dissatisfaction with the look or feel of a floral design does not merit a refunded charge. Please direct any delivery issues to our team within 24 hours of delivery completion.
Studio pickup is not available, as our studio is closed for walk-ins and located at a private address.
2. Local Delivery
Our service area map denotes delivery areas within Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
- Extended delivery: We may arrange for delivery to extended areas for an additional charge. Please contact us directly to confirm availability and pricing for these locations prior to order submission.
- Incorrect address: Please double-check that the delivery address is complete and accurate. Incorrect or incomplete addresses may result in an address correction fee and delay the delivery. We are not responsible for deliveries made to incorrect addresses submitted by the customer nor for deliveries completed within the delivery window that were not brought inside by the recipient.
3. Delivery timing
- Delivery Window: Local delivery Tues-Friday each week offers (1) set delivery window, typically 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM unless otherwise noted, that the floral design(s) may be delivered. Darling & Daughters will contact the sender should the delivery be delayed beyond this window for any amount of time.
- Specific delivery times: While you may request a specific delivery time, we cannot guarantee it. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but our delivery schedule is optimized for efficiency. For time-sensitive events like funerals, please contact us directly prior to order submission.
- Holidays and peak season: Due to high volume, we cannot guarantee specific delivery times during holidays such as Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, and the weeks of Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
4. Recipient not available
- Single Residence delivery: If the recipient is not home, our driver will attempt to leave the arrangement in a safe, shaded location, such as a porch or with a neighbor, whenever possible. We will attempt contact with the recipient (text or phone call) to advise that the floral delivery is complete.
- Apartments and secured buildings: If concierge service is not available, and the recipient is not home, our driver will contact the recipient and/or sender, and make a value judgment to determine placement or design return to studio. Next-day delivery may be attempted for an additional charge, and Returns/Refunds are not accepted unless offered by Darling & Daughters.
- Business delivery: Our driver will leave the flowers with a receptionist or at the designated delivery area. We are not responsible for delays caused by the recipient being out of the office.
- Recipient refusal: If the recipient refuses the delivery, Darling & Daughters will contact the sender to advise. Refunds will not be offered.
5. Order issues
- Delivery concerns: If you have concerns about the delivery of your order, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery completion with a description of the issue and a photo/video documenting the issue. Providing a photo of the arrangement can help us resolve issues quickly.
- Redelivery: In the event of an unsuccessful delivery due to an incorrect address or the inability to safely leave the item, a redelivery fee may apply for delivery on the next business day. The customer is responsible for coordinating and paying for any redelivery.
- Extreme weather: During periods of extreme temperatures (heat, cold, excessive sun, wind, hail, or rain), we will take all reasonable precautions to protect your floral arrangements during transport. In the event that the recipient does not bring the flowers inside upon delivery, the sender understands that weather factors may impact design quality.
- Darling & Daughters is not responsible for floral longevity or the care of flowers after they are left at the delivery location. Our private studio is not open for walk-ins or pickups.
6. Floral Longevity
We pride ourselves on providing the freshest, highest-quality flowers available and the understanding that some flowers and foliage will fade naturally due to varietal type and factors such as air temperature at the delivery location. All delivery designs are created same-day, cooled in the studio, and delivered with some flowers more tight, and some more open. For this reason, we cannot guarantee any specific length of time that an arrangement will remain fresh. We guarantee that your floral arrangement or bouquet is created with flowers sourced within 1-2 days of the arrangement and treated professionally in our studio for optimal presentation.
If you feel your flowers have not lasted with proper care, please contact us no later than 48 hours following delivery completion. We will assess the situation and, at our discretion, will offer a partial or full refund or replacement.
Our guarantee does not cover the following situations:
- Neglect or improper care: Flowers that have not received fresh water or have been placed in an unsuitable environment.
- Extreme conditions: We cannot be responsible for flowers exposed to extreme heat or cold, direct sunlight, or drafts.
- Customer error: The guarantee is void if the wrong address was provided for delivery and the flowers could not be delivered promptly.
- Natural variations: Because flowers are a natural product, slight imperfections and variations in color are to be expected. This policy does not cover issues that are not related to the general freshness and quality of the blooms.
- Specific flower longevity: Some flower varieties, such as hellebore and poppies, have naturally shorter lifespans than others. While we provide the freshest version of every bloom, the guarantee acknowledges that some flowers have shorter vase lives.
- Event florals: This policy does not apply to flowers used for special events, which are treated to be presented at peak bloom and may fade faster.

Care and Keeping of Your Floral Design
Fresh flowers are cut off from their life source upon harvest and will naturally fade at different rates depending on the season, placement/location, and care. Darling & Daughters cannot be held responsible for floral longevity specific to any one stem type.
Order Care
- Fresh water designs:
- Trim the stems to better absorb water.
- Replace the water daily with fresh cool water
- Display your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, and ripening fruit, which releases gases that can damage flowers.
- Remove old flowers: Promptly remove any dead or wilting flowers and leaves, as they can cause bacteria to spread and contaminate the water.
- Foam Designs
- Add fresh cool water daily.
- Display your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, and ripening fruit, which releases gases that can damage flowers.
- Remove old flowers: Promptly remove any dead or wilting flowers and leaves, as they can cause bacteria to spread and contaminate the water.
- Delayed claims: Any claim made after 48 hours is considered too late for a partial or full refund.
- Unsafe delivery location: If a customer requests a delivery location where the driver cannot safely leave the flowers, Darling & Daughters may not be held responsible for the item being lost, stolen, or damaged in any capacity.
- Refusal of delivery: If a recipient refuses to accept the flowers, the customer is still responsible for the cost of the order. A redelivery charge to a secondary address the following business day may be offered and assessed.
- Disliking the style, color, or substitutions in an arrangement is considered a matter of personal preference, not a quality issue, and is generally not grounds for a refund. See our Designer's Choice note in Delivery Policy.
- Incorrect delivery address: An incorrect or incomplete address that results in a delivery delay or failure is the customer's responsibility. Our studio may not be considered at fault for the resulting quality issues.
